Michigan Ballet Academy announces Ericka Goss as new Artistic Director

Michigan Ballet Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Ericka Goss as new Artistic Director. In her time as Lead Teacher for Michigan Ballet Academy, Ms. Goss has used her vast experience as a professional ballet dancer and teacher to combine the elements of Classical Ballet with her knowledge of modern dance education. Ms. Goss’ teaching methods emphasize technique and artistry with wellness to create well-rounded dancers who can sustain the rigorous demands of the art form. Under her training and mentorship, her students have placed at prestigious competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix, the American Dance Competition Youth International Ballet Competition, and the World Ballet Art Competition, in addition to being invited to perform as finalists…

Michigan Ballet Academy was founded by two former Grand Rapids Ballet Company principal dancers, Gaiane and Akop Akopian. The Akopians branched off of GRB about 10 years ago to start a school that reflected their Russian training and started their school with over 30 pre-professional students. These students went on to find placements in major ballet companies around the world, including Grand Rapids Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Compania Nacional de Danza de Mexico, English National Ballet, and many prestigious university dance programs…
