Summer Intensive Video Audition Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to submit your video audition:

  1. Film your audition! A regular digital camera or smartphone may be used. If filming with a phone, make sure your video is horizontal.

  2. Video quality must be 720p, 1080p (HD), or higher.

  3. Upload your video onto YouTube or Google Drive (you can create it as a private, unlisted video on YouTube).

  4. Video specifications are as follows:

    • Must be at least 5 minutes and no longer than 10 minutes.

    • Barre, one side only:

      • plie

      • tendu from 5th position

      • degage

      • ronde jambe a terre

      • adage

      • grand battement

    • Center:

      • adage

      • pirouette combination (both sides en dehors & en dedans

      • petite allegro

    • Pointe:

      • 2-3 combinations, both sides — including single & double pirouettes

    • For male dancers:

      • 2-3 combinations showing batterie and tours en l’air

  6. After you have submitted your video and paid the audition fee, please email photos of a headshot and full body 1st arabesque to administrator@michiganballet.org.
